I think she means neem oil. Also there are sticky yellow traps you can place near infected plants. To speed up the process disturb the plant so they fly and then land on the trap.
Blasts of water or use Insecticidal soaps like Safer. Encourage ladybugs and lacewings. I think Green acres carries both. If you are dealing with a greenhouse, release these beneficial insects! I'm not really sure how effective they would be outside. Also, men oil and other horticultural oils help.
