We found the Mexican next to Red Feather to be the best place to eat by some distance, including for breakfast. It's not really a town as such. It's a reasonably small strip of hotels etc but provides great access for seeing the canyon without hours of driving each day you go.

Your best bet is to hit the canyon and catch sunset/sunrise and then cruise back into town. The Mexican food place next to Red Roof is very good. The pizza place is a 10-15 min walk at a slow pace...however, the walk is worth the wait. They had the best margherita pizza I've ever eaten...EVER.
Also a pretty good Mexican restaurant. A ittle further away is a pizza/pasta restaurant which is clearly the local favorite.
Last shuttle from the canyon around this time is 9-930, so you can watch the sunset at the canyon if you want to.
Yes it is in the center of town. Town closes down early but there is a steakhouse that is open longer and mcdonalds
