Well where do I start ? Staff is great no complaints. Rooms are dirty , we found nail clippings . We also had surprise visitors . I understand I’m in the middle of a national park but the rodents need better control. They did come and put traps in the room but we got ZERO sleep . On the flip side the rim is literally steps away and beautiful views .

Awesome view. The front desk is at El tovar hotel. I just loved El tovar’s food and drinks. Just beside the rim trail and shuttle stop. Ask front desk to provide a Canyon view room if possible.

Beautiful location if you get the canyon side. Rooms were clean. Only issue was the air didn't work so the room got hot. Luckily it was very cool outside the windows open and have a screen to keep bugs out. The screen opens as well which gave me an opportunity to get a great sunset picture. Had a TV, mini fridge, coffee maker. I liked that they had full size shampoo and conditioner. We were only there for one night. You check in at the hotel next door. There are a few restaurants but the waits were rediculous. We ended up going to Maswik Lodge for breakfast. Nothing fancy, cafeteria style food but quick and hot. Saw lots of wildlife around the rooms. Would definitely recommend.

Last time I was in the Canyon (and the first time), I booked 7 months in advance to join some friends who were staying at El Tovar. They were sold out and we had to stay at Yavapai Lodge. I think the rooms were a little nicer than Kachina and it was convenient to be near the market but I definitely prefer the location of Kachina Lodge. Checkin for Kachina Lodge is at El Tovar as Kachina has no front desk. We had a room with a partial view of the canyon. I was expecting to just be able to see a sliver but I thought the view was great! It was nice to be between El Tovar Dining Room and Harvey's. My 2 favorite places to eat. Breakfast at Harvey's Burgers is sooo good. (The oatmeal and cinnamon roll are fabulous! And the spinach salad with chicken is amazing as well.) Anyways, back to our room. It was clean with plenty of towels. There was a mini fridge and coffee (although only 3 cups worth) but the coffee machine leaked a little bit. Plenty of places to plug things in and our room was quiet. One annoying thing is that on the second day, after we had been hiking all day, our keys no longer worked so we had to go to El Tovar and get new ones. I would be okay staying here and would choose it over Yavapai merely for location but I'd probably choose El Tovar over Kachina if you can get a room there. By the way, I took a picture of the canyon from our room through the screen, it's a pretty amazing view and worth the money!
