I don't know. But i was in ER a couple of days ago. I had pulomonary pain. My pain was controlled with 1.5 mg of Dilaudid. Then one of the nurses decided that she would guide me to go to the lobby area to wait for my ride. I declined--as I was still in pain and didn't feel it was a good idea for me and my illnes/ treatment to be exploited before other patients, etc. I like Dr. Koo. But sometimes the nurses treat Sickle Cell patients like drug addicts--and that im not. I'm thankful for not being forced into the lobby area. I've had more positive experiences here than negative. I whish they were all positive, but their just may not be a way to get around that with humans.
