They have less staff on the weekends yet there should always be someone answering the phones. The line should never be busy because there are multiple lines to the number. If the office is empty because the staff are out on a call, the line is forwarded to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center. Hope this helps.

You should not be getting a busy signal. Double check the number. (510)382-3000 You should be able to get through 24 hours/ 7 days a week. It is best to call with questions M-F 8:30 am - 5pm. Hope this helps!
