It is kid friendly but might be boring. Its a series of dioramas explaining the sequence of events on 1692. Followed by a brief tour of regular museum artifacts and information
The staff there are very welcoming to adults and children, but the very young might find it a little spooky. I saw lots of kids there when I visited (everybody seemed happy). 😊
