I've written many reviews good and bad - simply cannot find the words to accuratly describe this experience. Simply put - Save your money - save your time. Simple as that. No pictures allowed not to preserve any antiquities but rather, they don't want them posted here. This is NOT a museum of any kind. And the presentations really will leave you confused. And the second half, oh my.

First - Sit in the middle of the room on the stools for the best views. That is my visiting tip for you. This was a good spot to begin our day in Salem. My daughter has not yet read The Crucible so this overview filled in many of her knowledge gaps. The display definitely looks as though it hasn't been updated in years. You spend the first part of your time watching a series of dioramas light up (they surround the room) as a narration reads through a timeline of events surrounding the Salem Witch Trials. After that show is over you are moved into a second space. It has a few displays with a timeline on one wall and a few exhibits to look at. I was also slightly disappointed at the lack of time in the second room. It too has narration with dioramas (though these you must move around the room ro view). As soon as the narration is over you are moved out with no time to read anything displayed on the walls. But overall this is where I would suggest anyone visiting Salem start their day.

The Salem Witch Museum is a beautiful building. The actual tour is just OK compared to everything else offered in Salem Massachusetts. My teens enjoyed it, but were quickly done and ready to go on to the next thing. When sitting, be prepared to have to do a 360 turn. The round stools look easier than the benches were. When we visited tickets were only able to be purchased online with specific entry times.

Fun tour, worth the price. Nice gift shop. No photography or video allowed inside, so keep that in mind when visiting. Not too scary for kids, more educational and interesting.

The Salem witch museum for sure, the witch dungeon , house of seven gables and the Peabody Essex
Yes but it's mostly movie junk. Like Harry Potter and hocus pocus.
I would call, if i where you
It is kid friendly but might be boring. Its a series of dioramas explaining the sequence of events on 1692. Followed by a brief tour of regular museum artifacts and information
There is a parking lot behind and a parking garage adjacent to it. Both are convenient and economical.
Go right at Halloween, you will love it.
Not sure what you are asking. This is a touristy attraction. A big room with poorly made wax figures showing scenes of a recorded voice over story about the Salem witch trials. Unless you are really into the witch trials, and don't mind a dramatized story, I would skip it. There is nothing of actual historical significance except maybe the list of people that were accused during the trials.
I went a couple of years ago... It wasn't mind blowing, but it wasn't expensive either. Overall I think it's worth doing if you're in town.
If you go to RJ Coins and Jewelry in Pickering Wharf on Wharf St. They may be able to tell you, or at least guide you in the right direction on who to go to for value.
Yes, you can volunteer noisy children as a human sacrifice to bring you good luck
Yes, I believe it's open all year, you will enjoy the experience. There are no artifacts or memorabilia, however the staff are very knowledgeable and can give you some good advice on the area and places to visit.
Call the museum
Every restaurant asked us for proof of vaccine
You have to buy your tickets in advance via qr code.
We took the train. Tickets are 15.00 a person. You need to get their 15 minutes before you ticket time.
Absolutely. Easy walk between both. 12-15 minute walk depending on your pace. And there are some good restaurants between both. We did House of Seven Gables in late morning, lunch and then Witch Museum.
Now as in today? Or now as in are the operating as normal post pandemic? They were operating normally last week, and hours are on their website. Make sure you get your tickets online in advance!
Go to this website, https://salemwitchmuseum.com/tickets/ and purchase your tickets early on the day of and you have pretty much free reign on tour times. Fairly short tour, but it is cool, I'd also reccomend going to crow haven corner and asking about the witch walk which is in the evening.
When I went in October, they were only selling tickets online. A lot of people were turned away when asking staff to purchase onsite.
Set an alarm for 1157 so you have a couple mins to load the website. The website is very slow because of everyone loading it. Goodluck
You need to be in the area to reserve a time. I dont remember the exact price but right around 20 dollars a piece. Tours are every 30 minutes throughout the day
Some places, like a few restaurants were closed for the winter, reopen in September/October
Yes, if you show your license with a Salem address you’ll be granted free entry.
I did the city go pass. So it was included but to be honest...the salem witch museum is cheesy. City go pass is worth every penny though. It gets you into 40+ attractions. We did whale watching (included) it was an amazing experience. We did several other things too. Enjoy your trip
You got it Maggie. That is exactly right
No burning witches. They explain correctly that all 19 convicted of witchcraft were hanged. One man was crushed with stones in a failed effort to force a confession. The puritan did not burn witches.....that's a European thing.
Historical content, but definitely needs to be updated.
At the door, it was $12/adult, $9/child under 14
I want a flight from england , accomadation and the full tour can you help me ? Thanks
There was Salem and Salem Village. Very large area now divided, Danvers is the new name.
