They may not have a bed available. But they should have moved him from a gurney to a hospital bed. I've spent nights in an er because the census upstairs was full.
Maybe, they have staff to take care of him in ER & the floor has too much going on to provide his care? Must be some reason!
Wow, that is long. Is the hospital over census or are they not meeting that state minimum requirement have to ask yourself if they are over the census, and/or the nursing staff isn't available to meet minimum state requirements. If your husband is stable enough transfer to Doctors or SMH. If it was my husband, and if he is stable transfer to Doctors or SMH. And if they threaten you with leaving AMA to ask to see the medical director or Director of nursing. Letters should be written in the complaint for they have to respond if in writing. Verbal complains go on deaf ears, and the survey should be mailed to the CFO or someone high up, or it will be buried in the stack. More than I like to admit, i have seen this often. If he is still on a stretcher check his butt for redness which is an early sign of pressure sores. Is he receiving a meal, and most importantly treatment should not have been delayed waiting. The doctor's orders should still be followed regardless where
