YES! There is also a Trolley that is free you can ride to the other sides of the island, where there are more restaurants and shopping. I found myself walking to the drug store on several occasions. The grocery store that is in walking distance has plenty of options, unless you are needing speciality options. We have a gluten allergy and definitely needed a car to get to other stores. This is one of the best ares we have been to. I also felt safe walking to different places without my husband. Be ready to collect shells, just make sure that they are critter free.
Captains Curts oyster bar is across the street in a small plaza that also houses a local grocery store for your essentials. If you drive up just past the 41 ( a 3 min drive) there is a large Publix in another larger outdoor mall plus many other retailers there as well
Captain Curts, the Tiki Bar has great food. City Pizza, a great breakfast place a half block away. The Daiquiri Deck. A just across the bay is another restaurant. There is a Carabba's less than a mile away. Publix s and other restaurants right across 41.
