Parking has changed as of Jan 1st 2018. To ensure a parking spot you must set up a reservation. At your reserved time you only have a half hour to claim your spot and there are three lots for the main entrance can be a bit of a walk to the main entrance. But the other stops have more open parking for the beach and overlook locations
Don't park on the roadside. This was always illegal, but they started to enforce it January 2018. They have tow trucks on call. I saw a car towed. I work in Muir Woods; trust me, DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. YOU MUST RESERVE A PARKING SPACE.
Yes, parking is always full, but you can park along road and walk
Parking is unbelievably horrendous for those who chose to come at a leisurely time. There are a few small lots scattered along the small road. You absolutely must come early as in before 830am to not have an issue. Otherwise you may have to risk parking along the small road with no shoulders on the uneven dirt and walking ON the road itself which can be a hazard, sometimes up to a mile. Not worth it at all, so please get there VERY EARLY. Also won't be as crowded in the woods. Go early and enjoy!
Get there early parking is extremely Limited
yes
Where can I reserve for a parking spot? Pay by online?
Parking is always hard to find on Saturday
