I took my 5 year old Golden retriever who runs regularly (10 miles a week) and is pretty fit. She really struggled on this hike. Be certain to take plenty of water. We ran out of water by the time we reached the peak (I brought 2 water bottles for the dog and ended up giving her extra that 4 of us had to split out if our personal water supplies). On the way down she could barely walk as her paws were hurting her. It has taken her a couple of days to recover, and she is still slightly limping.

We saw many signs not to bring your dog but we did bring a dog. Its just a very high hike very hot half way (heatstorke warnings) and some peices of broken glass here and there.
