Besides shelter, they offer a place to get your GED classes, they offer mental health. The sad thing is that intake is not until Wednesday. So I would recommend this, if you are in St Pete and you have access to a phone call The nonemergency number of the St Pete police and tell them your situation and they should be able to get you in contact with the homeless liaison officer (officer Rich) and he should be able to have some ideas where you can go. Please be safe out there.
Actually intake is every Tuesday and it's best to get there as early as possible to get a spot as it's first come first served. People usually start lining up by 4-5am but definitely I would get there by 6 at the latest! If you are able to get a referral you will have a better chance of getting in, especially if you have a hardship with transportation to get there because they will put you at the top of the list and intake doesn't actually start until about 7:30-8am. See if you can get it touch with a homeless outreach coordinator such as Karen Main. You can do this by calling 211, Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) or go to the St Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen in Clearwater and they can most likely help you reach someone. Also a police officer will drive you there if you need. Hope is an amazing place with every resource you can imagine. Tents are free and they are brand new they will provide all your needs from daily meals to blankets, clothing and hygiene.
