Otherwise your parents might not be happy about you getting a dog and you would have to take the dog back to the shelter that would be sad for everyone, especially the dog. Getting a dog is to love it and keep it, for the dogs whole life. It's a major commitment, he or she will become a part of your family. I have 3 dogs and I love them all like they are my kids. Research the different breeds of dogs before you get one they all have different needs, some breeds have a lot of medical problems and special needs.
