Not all cabs from mexico side can cross into the USA. Drivers have to have at least a b1/b2 visa. And depends on the day and time, traffic can be up to 3 hours long to cross. You have to negotiate with the mexican drivers how much before you get in the cab. Best to walk across and get uber or lyft at the US side.

You should just cross on the pedestrian side kind of near of where you come in. Thats if time is of the essence.
