RC very rarely cancels any scheduled events and Rides. Christmas brings Santa to Bear Mountain! And Rainforest Weekends start January and are so much fun on the Steamers! Don't let the weather stop you. The trees block you from pouring rain and usually most cars have a soft top roof and sides but you're bound to get a little wet. The weather must be extreme wind and or rain from what I've experience last Fall and Winter. You may call the Station anytime or view Facebook to message Roaring Camp morning of. Bring a poncho, waterproof shoes and layer your clothes as the Forest is relatively different weather from their wonderful park....don't forget to stop for an Herbal Tea or Hot Chocolate at Georgies Outdoor covered family style restaurant. Christmas shopping in the General Store where you can pick up your tickets and buy a rain poncho if needed. I hope this helps ya. The train through the Redwoods has some covered cars. Not sure what they do about the open cars. At this time of year I would imagine that they have small enough crowds that they would all fit in the covered cars.
The trains are mostly covered and there are some that are regular passenger cars
They can add and change the cars on the train, so no worries. It's a nice ride. Enjoy.
