That was the best campground I have ever been to in my entire life! More than accommodating and super family friendly. I could never ask for a better experience. If I ever have the opportunity again I will definitely go back! We rented an RV, started in fort Bragg and made our way all the way down to Monterey and back up through modesto. Smith woods treated us like we were millionaires!

Great RV park, friendly stuff and nice location! Pool was heated, great hikes right next to the park, you can buy in office everything what you forgot!

This is a very peaceful RV park set in the woods. There is no phone or WiFi service at the RVs, but there is wifi service at the office if you are desperate. It was really nice to fully unplug for a few days.

Relaxing. Not quite a resort, but definitely a destination to check out if you're planning on pulling to the Santa Cruz area. This rustic site is among many redwood trees and borders the San Lorenzo River. Across the river is the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, which is just a short drive out of Smithwoods. The park is small, but beautiful. The sites are well maintained and have full hookups. Some sites have very unique shapes and attributes, using hollowed out redwood trees and fallen branches as dividers, seats, or scenery. The site we stayed in was right on front street, site 90. It had a triangle shape, with a short concrete wall divider between our site and the road. Even though we saw a lot of foot and vehicle traffic, the noise level of the campers was respectfully low. Also, on noise... One really cool thing about this place is that it is near the Roaring Camp Railroad. Every so often you will hear an almost ghostly train horn echoing through the trees. The train horn definitely adds to the rustic relaxation ambiance of this camp. Thanks Smithwoods! We can't wait to return.

No, but there are places you can rent an RV and drive it there.
Pets are $2 each, per night. They must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long. Pit bull, pit bull mixes and aggressive dogs are not permitted. The campground is very dog friendly, and has doggie bag stations throughout the park. 🐾
I believe so. # more then April !!
Yes, Smithwoods allows campfires AND provides each campsite with a fire pit at no additional cost. 😊
Yes, during peak season there is a foot bridge that is put up... off season your on your own (ask locals)
Smithwoods only does monthly extended stays from late September to end of April. You must contact the office for details.
No hot tub, but they do have a heated pool that is open from late April thru October, from 10am to 7pm.
You don't choose your own spot...they choose it for you. Some spaces are a little cramped depending on the size of your vehicle. Its a beautiful area, friendly people and kid friendly. They allow pets also. 15 minute drive to the boardwalk.
I believe up to 4 month stays at a time 9 months max a year. You might call to double check
Just follow hwy 9 left leaving Smithwoods that runs in front of Smithwoods into Santa Cruz to the beach or turn from hwy9 onto hwy1 north and it follows the coast. 8 or 9 miles from Smithwoods
