I have two feline sisters 18 months old that are tearing up my furniture and lani screens up. I have a number of scratching items. Can I have them declawed?

Yikes. No. Declawing surgery is inhumane, not recommended unless medically necessary and is being made illegal more and more. They sell cat anti scratch sprays and tape, which is probably more effective than the spray. They also sell cat claw caps that go over their claws to dull them. And im sure there's more products. I'd imagine you'd rather take a non invasive and less expensive route than surgery as a pet owner, and I hope you've explored all of those avenues first. I don't know if declawing surgery has been changed/updated but it has been long seen as cruel because of the pain it causes cats; the entire knuckle is amputated, the claws aren't just simply taken out. Declawing in this fashion has been known to cause additional issues such as cats not using their litter box and going outside of it, pain, behavioral issues and more. Please look into this and exhaust all of your alternatives before you decide to do this to your pets.

Yes they do. I just had two done last week... and for the same reason.
