It can be deceptive. Its not so much a long hike as a vertical change hike - down to the waterfall and then hike back up to get out. Ive seen a lot of people get pretty huffed up going up the trail to get back to parking. From my map it looks like you cross about 8 or 9 contour lines each way, down then up, for what is approximately 1000 yards of horizontal trail length.
From parking lot closest to visitor center, walk the road out of the park. Just past the kiosk, take Canyon Trail left. Stay on the main trail - there are a couple of left turns you could make that will dead end (and send you down a steep hill) The water fall is obvious - if you cross a wooden foot bridge, you have gone just a tiny bit too far. Less than 1 mile from parking lot to waterfall. The trail is rough in some spots. It is not a trail I would take Grandma on.
There is also a much easier walk from the road parking spaces half way up to the pay station...takes 10mins down and 10mins back up to car
Thank you ALL. THIS Grandma needs a different waterfall to seek out. Any suggestions for an easier starter "walk?" LOLL (Little Old Lady Laughing)

Even the easy route is s bit of climb out. Not sure if there's enough water this time of year, call first. The volunteers there are very helpful
