If you're low income The Legal Aid FOUNDATION will answer it for you at no charge. Make sure it's the real legal aid & not b.s. copycats.

5 days includes weekends- for instance Thurs Fri Sat Sunday Mon is 5th day over holidays - Wed thus Fri Sat Sund Mond was 1/1, 1/2 Tues had to befiled- court is very picky about filing "correctly"- - # lined legalpaper- right heading, forms, format- get help!!!!!EDn free consultation. I went to Eviction Defense Network, paid $125, or Answer. worth every penny; loved my paralegal Adriana; filled it out, ticked all the right boxes, "ran it by an atty" made copies, served attys; filed it with the Court. Both the miserable corrupt owner's attys and The Court know you went to the trouble to get it done professionally. recommend, Coalition for Economic Survival in West Hollywood has workshops; but advice on UD is still Answer AND get Atty for Court. or they will"kill" you. PAUL DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. ONE OF THE RECPTIONIST & OE OF THE PARALEGALS, DIDN'T REALLY LIKE. lawyers are expensive- at leasst go to Legal aid to ask them to hlep answer- but still get lawyer to represent you.

1..we need to see the notice of eviction to know the reason why the landlord wants to evict you ..then file the answer or demurrer based on that. 2. Check with case number if they had filed the proof of service of eviction notice and any other declaration.
