Not around the house, but on the hike up you can cross the steam, and play in it if you like.
I was able to get in the water within the immediate perimeter of the house. Though there was sections with limits on some announced with a small sing and yellow tape that most people was ignoring. Unless the park rangers came around to check, which they were doing periodically.
