A beautiful beautiful place to visit during spring. The wild mustard flowers and the sunflowers blooming literally everywhere on the mountain make the hike so so so worth it. Perfect for a moderate to steep hike. Best time to visit the place early morning when the sun is not over the head.

Awesome place for a walk. It's very beautiful and easy but I came too late to get to a viewpoint before dark. If you give yourself at least 2 hours from when you arrive, you'll enjoy your time here

Loved the hike. Picturesque vistas. A circle hike so no turning around. Also, don't neglect the historical house on the way. Do it.

I absolutely love this small strip in Malibu to pull over and take photos or hit the beach for some sun. It's a very rocky run So it's not a good spot to swim but definitely to collect rocks and shells a los especially if the tide is way out. It's also a small uncrowded spot generally. Parking is rarely an issue And it's just steps to the sand and water.

yes it is ,but you have to go early as the parking lot fills up quickly
Yep I believe until 7
Dogs leashed since this is designated protected park. Check the website and talk to Park Rangers upon arriving for areas pets are allowed. This is a protected State Park. Be prepared to pack out your pet's waste, food leftovers and water.
Parking is free however it fills up around 9 a.m.. So it's best to arrive a bit early
Unless the state closed parks and trails I don't see why it shouldn't be open
Open,no appointment needed. At the 1st entrance you'll see like 5 parking spots if you keep driving in, there is another parking lot for like 30+ cars . Have Fun!
I would call them directly.
Thanks Tiffany is there any river trails you recommend where do I park to get to the river trails ?any river trails in Malibu you guys recommend that are accessable and open to the public that has a trail of water ? Open to other suggestions if you guys know of any closest rivers that are open . Azusa is close so there goes that'
I think they close when the sun goes down
We did the waterfall trail, it was not bad. No shade so take a hat
Not around the house, but on the hike up you can cross the steam, and play in it if you like.
I talked to a ranger and it has opened. For any commercial filming you need to get a permit from the park service. I would call the Santa Monica Park Service and ask. If there are no rangers the day of filming you probably can film and no-one will stop you. But if a ranger happens to be there tha day of your filming ,he might shut you down or fine you.
Yiu just have to follow the little road up and turn slight right. Then you will see cars parked. Careful though, its really hard to find a spot sometimes, its a pooular place to hike!
Not sure due to government shut down. Perhaps social media like Instagram might be able to help. Maybe some recent posts. Good luck, can't wait to get back out there.
I'm sure you can since it's not for commercial gain. I take videos there all the time. But I would call and ask ranger. Also the place is crowded on weekends just fyi.
There's a small waterfall with pools surrounding it. It's a nice, relaxed hike near a seasonal stream to get there.
I am nit sure if you have found it right. Because it's open every day from 8am until sunset. I was there every week including last week.
