How long will a package take . Because my package has been ups San Francisco since 23 July ... and it’s August I still can’t get it yet ... I would like to know why ??

I called them to ask about my packageThey told me i could not pick up my package until i got a call from the customer care center.that was on a friday.i went there on monday and got my package. I asked them how come they said i had to wait for a call to pick up my packag? They said they didnt know??? I would go down there and see whats going on? But they did say they can only hold a package for five buisness days before they have to send it back to shipper.you shou lo d go down there as soon as possible.

They told me that they keep the package for 5 days. If customer don't pick in 5 days then they send back to sender.
