I think the Golden Corral has a lot to offer for the price
Going out to eat is expensive. Wages have to keep up with the cost of living. For what you get, the price is reasonable. Many other places cost more. Even the fast food burger places can cost quite a bit. For what you get the Golden Corral is still a good value.
Its been the same price for a long time
Unfortunately, due to mandated pay raises on all small businesses by local governments like Spokane, Seattle, San Fran, Portland ,food prices are going up 20% roughly and extreme pressure is also on every small business owner. Workers are not making more as businesses are forced to cut their hours, hire more to stay in business. Most restaurants are lucky to make a 5% profit and some are failing due to increased labor costs. Another round of increases is coming after Jan 1st. Besides actually hurting restaurant workers, more folks will eat out less as prices rise. Mandated pay raises are not the answer, competition and the free market are. Enjoy eating out while you can still afford it. BTW, I grew up in the restaurant business, worked in it since age six, owned my own, so pretty much understand the $ dynamics.
The question has merit. I remember when it cost $5.99 for dinner and some days kids under 12 ate free. Then the price by seemed to jump to $8.99. We haven't been able to afford it for years now.

That's what my daughter & I thought 2 weeks ago when she took me there for my birthday dinner. BUT, for everything you get, steak & shrimp, etc, all the different options, for every different family never, AND.. it was only like 31.00 at GC.. as opposed it being roughly 60.00 for my husband & I at Applebee's, where they have raised their prices but lessened their portions, I say the little bit of the jump is well worth it at GC. Just my families opinion. ;)

I know!!! I used to love going there, but over the years, the price has excluded me from going near as much. It used to be $8.99 then $9.99 and those prices included your drink. Now if you take 4 people it ends up costing about $75
