Why is it called Golden Gate Brigde when it's red?

This is actually quite a good question, and one that I don't know if there is a concrete answer for. Although some times with the sun's reflection some days it looks somewhat gold

Is actually when sunset shines on the bridge it sort of shine out as fiery red gold colour that why it is called golden gate bridge.

The entrance to the bay that the bridge spans is called the Golden Gate Strait.

This is the color of the protective paint that contains ferrous minerals to prevent corrosion

I think maybe because It's called“golden gate” bridge not “golden bridge” ：P, and It is do looks like golden in sunset!
