Get on a waiting list for the evening tour. They have upto 20 people each on standby for the 2 evening tours and almost always let all of them on! I was there on Monday, 06/11 and was on WL #14 for the 5:30 tour.
If you show up early you may be able to buy it on the pier.
Not any legit way. We were just there earlier this week, and the next tour was Aug 1st.
We were there last week. The concierge at the hotel told us that they put cancellations on the site after 6pm. we tried that day and got 4 tickets for the following day. Give it a try.
You may also buy tickets at the dock also, but get there at least an hour or more before you want to leave. If you have time to waste before the boat....check out shops an Boudin has great clam chowder and lots to look at.
If you're not able to find tickets, the blue and gold bay cruise is pretty cool.
We bought our from a local vendor...we are here now, did the tour yesterday and it was awesome!
Take the Angel Island & Alcatraz tour! Its beautiful and totally worth it.
