Yes bring your dogs. Leashes are a must. I carry pepper spray...12ft range just in case. Never had a problem.
Ive seen people walking their dogs on leashes. There have been known sightings of mountain lions in the past and possibly bobcats. I've seen coyotes and coyote tracks while hiking in Santiago Creek, so just a little care and common sense ie. leash, keep animals close, walking or hiking partners, etc.
