Not really. People do bike through sometimes. And the walk up and down the stairs can feel like you went in a hike. I walk from one end to the other and its nice if it isn't hot out.
People were riding their bicycles all over the campground. There was not any hiking just walking the beach.
Carlsbad is very "cycle friendly" lol 😄. You can ride your bike around the campground and to the local shopping center wich is close by. As far as there being "hike/bike sites", not really. I mean there are hike or bike trails all around Carlsbad, but not down at the actual beach or campgrounds.
