If I’m 18 and I have my behind the wheel test do I have to go with someone that is older than 21 or can they be 20 with their license, ID, and registration?

Must be accompanied by a California licenced driver age 18 or over , who has a non probationary licence valid for the vehicle being driven.

When I went to do the test i was told that I needed a licensed driver that was 21 years of age or older. At least that's what they told me at that time.

I'm not sure but by law if you don't have a driver's license you have to be with someone that does have a driver's license.
