Hey there! There is actually no such thing as a certificate in regards to service dogs. Service dogs are task trained animals and are considered medical equipment. It sounds like you’re referring to an emotional support animal. The only thing you need is a letter from your doctor, or therapist stating that.
Idk what makes you think Maine is anti pet you are wrong and very ignorant of Mainers it's the landlords who have been screwed over by irresponsible pet owners who destroy the apartments by not cleaning up after their animals
You have to go thru a Dr then you have the dog feind you so you what a calm dog and you have to get him or her a vest and the Dr is, only to say that you need a dog to keep you calm so you won't have an attack good luck🐾🐾
My landlord pretty much took my word from me when i moved here with my Golden, who was my therapy dog. I didnt need any written proof, although i had it & gave a cooy of the letters from my NY doctor & veterinarian. Sadly, i lost my Bella almost a year ago. She was eight. I am now looking for another doggie to be my companiom, as my anxiety has reached a pinnaclw now, and its beginning to affect my physical, as well as mental & emotional health. Unfortunately, my car needs tires replaced, so i am relying on the goodness & kindness of friends right now, for my transportatiin needs. But, it wont be long now before my own vehicle is back in shape, with me back behind the wheel!! THEN I can be much more diligent in my hunt for my new fur-ever friend & companion. I’m already beginning to feel mentally better, just knowing i can resume my hunt for my new fur-ever friend & buddy!!
