They have a great selection of bikes and gear. The staff is really top notch. I was getting back into cycling after many years. They were very patient and helped me into a bike that fit my needs and ability.

I called last week for hydrolic break check and fix. Since I didn't use a car, I was told if I rode my bike the next Tuesday that it would be fixed while I waited. So I skipped the closer bike shop since i was promised service. I arrived today and was told by the manager I should have called first. I told him that is what I did do...called and had an appointment. With no empathy and not even looking at the bike, he said they were too busy. I had biked already 16 miles with the area around the shop dangerous sprawl... but turned around and biked back to near Bucksport hoping to beat a storm. I felt a 0 was appropriate but apparently the shop is normally caring and honors its promises.

Staff was patient as I took my time and came back 2 or 3 times to look before making a purchase. One employee tried to talk me down a notch on price range even though it didn't benefit their bottom line. I still overspent for my skill level but got more bike for my money. To me this shows they aren't just trying to push a sale. Large selection of Giant MTBs as they are the local dealer.

I was traveling from out of town, and decided to stop at the Slipping Gears bicycle shop. The first thing that I noticed walking into the business was that it was neat and very well organized. It was easy to figure out what was where, and how they categorized inventory. I was also immediately welcomed by staff, and the owner also took time with me to just have a conversation about bikes, as well as his business. I’m very grateful that they made me feel like a valued customer. I will absolutely be in again to shop with them, and recommend them to my other cycling buddies. Ronni.
