Why are homeless allowed to camp in the lobby? It was very difficult to explain to my 4 year old grandaughter. Surely they could be moved one floor up so adults can deal with them rather than a little child.

Hi Shelly, Driftwood Public Library is a public building and is open to everyone, as long as they abide by Library and City Rules of Conduct (you can see those here: https://driftwoodlib.org/pdf/policy_rules_of_conduct.pdf). We don't restrict access based on a person's perceived housing status. If you see something occurring in the library or lobby that you think may violate our behavioral standards, please let a library staff member know and we'll address it as quickly as possible. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Kirsten Brodbeck-Kenney Library Director
