I recommend. Challenging. Might be hard for kids under 12. There are some pretty steep places and 5 minute inclines. Lots of people on the trail so you are never truly alone make sure you bring water and snack, the trail is humid with dense wet wooded area before you get to the ocean air. Also prepare for mosquitos in July and aug.Aug. Here of elk we're by the parking area as well. Great.

Absolutely amazing view. If you park on the West side of the parking lot (G3). Short hike, moderate level with 30 - 40 degree inclines at some part of the park. Short hike to God's thumb. To get there keep right on Knolls then go left when you see the second split. Once there the pathway to God's thumb is narrow. Can get windy so be cautious with kids and pets. After that you can walk the whole loop. Give yourself at least 3 hours for the whole loop.

Amazing views despite the fog and rain. Felt like we were on a ledge at the end of the world! We were the only group that we were hiking around that had summited the thumb, it was very muddy along the ridge and one bad slip could lead to a long fall. I would say it’s quite dangerous if you don’t have the proper hiking shoes while on the ridge. Hiking poles won’t hurt either!

This was such an awesome hike. If you are in Lincoln City then you should definitely check this hike out. The beginning is pretty steep and a little bit difficult but the view is worth it. The last stretch to Gods Thumb is very narrow so use extra caution on this portion of the trail. I recommend coming on a day where the ground is dry. I can see this becoming a dangerous hike when the ground is wet.

Near the beach there is a place called "Roads End" or "Trails End," you walk up to the trail from there. I once got away parking close to the trail by the tree line but that isn't often.
Nope. Cul de Sac at the top of the hill was free parking.
