They are very friendly and extremely helpful. It is definitely a newcomer friendly shop.
Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful* (*if not too busy). Prefer this place for all my saltwater stuff. Don't go their for freshwater. Second choice - Anglers Choice in San Diego, too. Freshwater: try BassPro, Cabela's or ??
You can tell by the flood of good responses, they are are great with helping out. Almost every time I'm in there, I hear some one say "they are new and looking to get started". As long as you have an idea of where you be fishing (bay, beach , kelp....) They have you setup quick.
