Portland Westbrook Maine, the primary approach to the Portland jet port is over Westbrook
Originally know as Stroudwater Field, in 1933 the City of Portland purchased the property and renamed it Portland Westbrook Municipal. When The FAA started to assign LID (Landing Identification Designators) we were named PWM, a direct reflection of our name at the time Portland Westbrook Municipal. Of course our airport has much outgrown it’s original names!
