Prices are shown online, along with times. We had great luck on the 1 pm Shearwater trip. It's a much smaller boat, so more "up close and personal" but also a little more expensive. Worth it if you don't mind a wilder ride. However we never got splashed, so my camera and gear were fine.

About $15 per person, depending on what sale you find. Check the website though. I think any time is fine. We went at 1pm. The website I believe lists what to expect each season.
