I was a little concerned with the bad reviews, but after having a great time there during the 4th of July weekend, I feel obligated to share my experience. Maintenance: a big topic in some reviews are due to the jets breaking. We got 2 jets skis and they were very new, clean, well maintained. We had no issues at all with them. Extra time to leave the bay: they give you 30 free minutes to get out in the ocean, and some people complain that takes longer than 15 min to get in-out. In our case we started at 02:05pm, but they wrote 02:10pm, giving us already 5 more minutes total. Then when coming back, I timed 19 min to drive across the bay, and then I was 10 min late. They marked my actual time, but there was no extra charge at all. Customer service: I see some reviews complaining about poor customer service. My experience was great! We called on the phone to ask for some info and the lady was very polite. Then when we got there, she was very friendly, making jokes, being very knowledgeable and taking the time to answer our questions even though the place was busy. My entire trip was a lot of fun, but then when returning the jet ski I hit the jet on the dock, making a mark at the plastic cover. The guys at the dock took pictures of it and sent to the manager. I was a little worried if I would have to pay anything. It did not damage the jet ski, but still it's something that I caused. I was worried. But then when I talked to Scott he said we were good. This shows that they are very reasonable, because they saw it was not my fault, and there was no mechanical issue. Bottom line: I see here that they are a serious business trying to provide a good service for their customers. The jets are pure fun, and we had a great time renting them. I highly recommend Balboa Water sports, and we are definitely coming back!

Had such a good time, staff was accommodating and understanding as well as flexible with our jet ski experience. Would totally recommend. The 15 min. Ride out to the ocean felt long but the amount of space we were given in the ocean gave us endless chances to ride & practice tricks.

Gave me an extra 30 mins to get out of the busy bay area where you can only go 5mph. Very fun skiidoo (jetski) experience! Put on the sunscreen because I got burnt...
