Through Dec. 16: The Gift Shop is open, Mass is celebrated daily for those who pre-register. The grounds and gardens are closed. On normal days, the lower level is free and there is a charge to the Upper Gardens. More info at thegrotto.org.
It has been open; my reading of Wednesdays limitations are that they would not close it. There is no charge for the lower area. I don't know if they charge a night of Columbus for the upper area.
