My kitten was $70 (but cats older than 6 months were $15 during adopt a cat month). That includes spay/neuter, first shots, microchip and 1 year license. They don't let you leave with the cat unaltered, you have to pick him/her up from the vet after the surgery.
Insane to charge that amount to adopt.
When I adopted my cat it was 40 dollars. That included the identity chip, plus the spay/neuter. They gave me a voucher for the vet and there was no additional charge.
Scraps does not do the spaying or neutering themselves. They give a coupon for partial payment at participating vets.
