WHO DO I CALL TO CHECK FOR ANYONE CLAIMING ME AS A DEPENDENT? I HAVE BEEN DOING MY OWN TAXES SINCE I WAS EIGHTEEN AND DID NOT PERMIT ANYONE TO CLAIM ME AS A DEPENDENT.

Audrey Whidden - you are delusional. I also have notice of a scam filing. I have tried to call the phone number indicated in the letter, but only get "We are too busy to take your phone call". I called multiple times. I then called the local office to make an appointment. I received the same message. They cannot or will not make appointments. They are too busy. My last recourse is to go down and see if I can make an appointment by being there in person. I will take a good book to read while I wait.

This is actually a IRS question. It may have been a scam filing. So you will need to go into your local IRS office with ID. You can look on their website for the appointment number. I recommend making an appointment with them. Walking could take a couple of hours to be fit in.
