You can get your provider # before your class when your background and/or fingerprints come back and you are cleared for working as a caregiver. You can also have an employer that you'll be working for but they wont print vouchers (time sheet) until you have a provider # and certification certificate. You get at the end of class. Now when I started I had my provider # also an employer. I was working before my class. My provider # came a week before my class. My employer talked to their case manager and I was paid for working that week. So to some it up yes you can. Will they issue a voucher for payment. NO .. Not until both requirements are met. Will they give back pay or pay retroactive to a previous date is case by case basis. Hope that helps..
If you have a class scheduled, but already got background check & P# you can work temp until orientation is completed. But there is a short time frame to complete both pieces, class & BG ck.
Don't think so.
