SPCA of Tampa Bay in Largo is definitely the best place to go. Watch the website. The pics are always up to date. If you see a pic, that pup is there and available. They take excellent care of the animals. and most importantly, they don't lie about what you're getting. That's been my worst experience with shelters and it happens all the time. I've never had a problem or been disappointed with any of the pets I've adopted from there. It's so good, I don't even mind the hour and a half drive each way !
You can rescue from shelters or look up rescues for the breed tye you're interested in, but def avoid breeders and save a fur baby that is more in need!
