Are the cats names their original names or are some of them named when they are at the shelter? I lost my cat and a couple of them look like her but not the name I gave her.

Your cat will know you. If you go and can show pictures with markings they may But they keep the ones in an area not for adoption that were just turned in as lost. Yes they will name them if they have to put up for adoption. Be careful about putting fingers in cages as I got bit so bad was in hospital 4 days and an operation. 😑

Cats that come in as strays are named at the shelter. Animals that are surrendered generally keep their original names.
