Went to ask about classes, Mary was very helpful. Learned a few things just talking to her for 20 minutes.

I signed up online for basic/novice obedience for my 7.5 months old Vizsla, when we arrived Heidi asked me what kind of training my dog had and I told her puppy preschool with SPCA and due to COVID I had been training him. I’ve had 7 big dogs in the past and took them all to obedience training ( in Germany, Switzerland and now the US, depending where we lived) plus I’ve been volunteering with a dog shelter for the past 9 years, caring and training the shelter dogs, so my puppy might not have been to a training facility but I have been working with him. When she heard he only had a puppy class, that’s when Heidi made up her mind, wanted to send us home right away but then told us to watch for a bit. We watched the two present dog handlers walking their dogs in heel and then she called us in for recall and after on recall, my pup came and set by my side she told me that he was to sit in front of me and stated that this wouldn’t work, that we would take away from the two established handlers and should come back for basic in January. My overall feeling was that we were not welcomed, neither by Heidi nor by the two clients who didn’t even acknowledge us, it seemed very cliquey. Heidi didn’t give us a chance from the get go. I’m disappointed as I took agility with my other dog at this place, years ago and back then, I had a great experience with the trainer. This time not so much to the point that I don’t feel like going back.

This was a great experience for my dog and I. The trainer was excellent and we learned some very basic obedience commands. I would highly recommend this training center. They make learning fun!

Mediocre, they didn't want to work with our pup at all. We where ignored the entire time even when we waited after class to ask questions and get help. We went to get some basic training along with help getting our puppy to politely greet and interact with other dogs/puppies, he gets a bit excited and will not listen to commands when other dogs are around. We assumed they would be able to help since it is a puppy class and puppies tend to be easily distracted. Boy where we wrong. On the first night we where told we have to sign up for the next class that night or we would never get a spot. Not even knowing if our puppy had passed the puppy S.T.A.R. Certification. We stopped going 4 weeks in it was a waste of time off work to not see any small improvement. I had called the first time and left a voicemail saying we wouldn't be going to class that night. I never received a call back saying what was taught in class. After the second week I didn't even bother with calling. They clearly don't care about you or your dog. We never received a single call asking if everything was alright or why we stopped showing up to class

Speak with the instructors, every dog is different and you might need a certain size, type or length collar. Speciality collars should be used at the trainers direction. Prongs and chokes are safer then buckle or harnesses for training with proper supervision. Have fun.
