While the office is still closed to the public, you can place orders through regular mail or through Vital Chek. https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/BirthDeathCertificates/GetVitalRecords/Pages/index.aspx
Basically, -you go to a vital records office -you get on the kiosk machine there and fill in the information as it asks. -Bring all YOUR ID you have available as well as your child's certificate of birth (the certificate from the hospital) and their social security card if you have them available Most importantly, if your child is a minor, you just need to prove who YOU are- since, im assuming, you're on your child's birth certificate. Hope this helps. I was nervous about getting my 16 yr olds birth certificate because we lost all that important stuff in a house fire. It really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. So don't stress. Pretty much, if you have an ID at least then they'll ask you questions that only you would know the answer to. Kinda scary how much info they know about us..
