In my opinion, it greatly varies. Between the Racing to Change and OSU exhibits, you could comfortably spend an hour in each. You could also peruse every exhibit in an hour. Finally, the flagship exhibit on Oregon's specific history is closed for rennovation until Feb '19. In sum, it really depends on how your group usually moves through any museum. Do you read every detail available, or do you focus on a few points before moving on.
A few hours depending on what the exhibits are; they have permanent exhibits and traveling exhibits
Thank you everyone for your great answers to this question! We agree that you can spend anywhere from 1-4 hours in our museum, depending on your interests, and whether or not you plan to visit our Research Library, which is free and open to the public (though hours differ from the museum: Tue 1-5pm and Wed-Sat 10am-5pm). SK correctly noted that our permanent exhibit on our 3rd floor is currently under renovation - however, if you are hoping to explore broad Oregon history, we do have two other permanent exhibits on view. Oregon Voices examines some of the important actions and ideas that have shaped Oregon from the end of World War II to the present. History Hub is the museum’s newest permanent exhibit made for kids, by kids. In History Hub, youth and families can explore the topic of diversity through fun, hands-on interactives and pictures. We hope you are able to visit soon!
