If you go to the visitor center, located near the corner of Jackson Drive and Mission Gorge Road, you can drive down the one-way street, Father Junipero Serra Road, and come out at the other end at the Old Mission Dam. There are some places to pull over and park, just check signs for closing times. It's usually 7:30 pm in the summer and 5:30 pm in the winter, but always double check to avoid getting locked in temporarily.
Father Junipero Serra Trail is the road that goes through the park. It is a one-way road from the Visitor Center to Old Mission Dam. It continues and comes back out on Mission Gorge Road closer to Santee. If you enter Father Junipero Serra Trail (FJST) from the Santee end off of Mission Gorge Road, it is a two-way road until you reach the Old Mission Dam. FJST is the only drivable road within the 7200 acres and 60 miles of trails that make up Mission Trails. Jay
By the Father Juniper dam, there is a road that goes to the visitor center. I've never been there personally.
Mission Gorge Rd goes through a small section of the park but otherwise it's hiking only.
Yes and no. You cannot drive on the hiking trails, but you can drive into the canyon at certain sections like the welcome center, the damn and the trail heads.
Mainly hiking
