They are not lying this is a beloved place for many people who easy here regularly and many like it for celebrating with a crowd also
Yes they definitely have a specific area for special occasions but most of them time you may or may not have to share that area. They stay crowded almost everyday from lunch time till closing.
They do a nice job of setting up special occasions. I have several areas and or separate rooms off the main dining room that can be used. Just give them a lot of notice.
I'm sure you could just call to ask and don't be suprised that it may be another special event for another party
