You could ride it without the battery plugged in. Kind of defeats the purpose of having an e-bike, but if you can't afford multiple bikes and are willing to make the compromise pedaling a heavier bike than needed without the benefit of the motor, you'd be fine.

Thank you guys. I really feel like I made a big mistake to spend $3k for an e-bike. I kept looking forward to buy a normal mtb for awhile. I think it's the time to but one so I can join you guys there. Hehe
