In my experience it is not a problem to make additional stop(s) if you are paying for the service yourself. But, as stated above if it is arranged through your insurance then it usually is to & from your visits to your clinic or primary care physician or any medical needs. Yes they usually do if it's not personal medical insurance you're not allowed to but if you're paying private-pay there shouldn't be a problem with you asking the taxi cab driver to make a stop at the pharmacy you might have to pay a waiting fee though
