This place is terrible. The doctors and social workers were mostly fine but 95% of the nurses were just awful. The doctors changed my meds up and I'm doing really good mentally now, so I'm happy about that. The food was pretty good, they had vegetarian stuff that was yummy. Also, being around other patients experienceing similar issues was very therapeutic, but that's it for the positives, now I'm just going to list all the major issues I had with this place. -Nurses completely ignore you when you go up to their area. I stood there for 20 minutes on my first day, I just wanted water. You have to yell at them to get their attention, or they will just ignore you. They were also usually rude, I even had one roll her eyes at me when I asked for a nicotine gum. -Not enough female doctors/social workers. I requested to talk to females only about my issues but they were unable to do this. -Nurses are constantly on their phones texting, I also saw one on a video call. One nurse used my room (while I was inside it) to make a private phone call in her language. They were also very loud at night. -No chapstick, my meds cause dry mouth and after a week my lips were starting to bleed. -Really nothing to do but watch TV or read all day, barley any activities to do but some puzzles with missing pieces. -Soap dispenser in eating area was broken the whole time I was there (a bit over a week) -All toilets were not flushable for a few hours on one day. One patient had to sleep in their room with their toilet full of vomit and diarrhea because of this. -Only one group meeting a day, and it was pretty much just a lady reading off a sheet of paper. The website advertised 3 meet-up a day, but this never happened. -Men were allowed to shave their facial hair but women were not allowed to shave. Men were allowed to take their shirts off outside, women couldn't even pull their shirts up to expose a bit of stomach without being yelled at to cover up. -Nurses did not use people's preferred names or gender identities. -Nurses did not enforce cleanliness. One male patient smelled like feces and urine almost every day, I wanted to vomit just walking past him. Another patient with foot fungus was walking around barefoot and putting her feet up on the dining tables. -Worst of all, the nurses are poorly trained in deescalating patients. The woman in the room next to mine was beating her head against the wall and I had to get a nurse to help her multiple times. I was able to talk her down a few times but I shouldn't of had to do this, it's the nurses job, I was there to heal, not be a therapist. The nurses did not watch her closely enough, she came in looking normal but ended up with two black eyes and a massive bruise on her forehead, which she did to herself over multiple sessions of beating her head on the wall. It was both heartbreaking and triggering to see, and could have been prevented if the nurses had just watched her a bit closer. They also gave a young afab autistic patient several large bruises on their arms and legs when restraining them. If you're a voluntary patient experiencing mental health problems, I'd recommend staying away from this place, there are much better facilities to go to. Multiple patients who had been to other facilities all said that Cascade was the worst one they've ever been to.

From the wonderful young lady that answered the when I needed in to the techs(Merhaye and Mister)ja who made me feel right at home. And to the doctor (Amber) who made me comfortable along with great nursing staff Bethlehem, Kim, Jamal and many others. The counciling here (Melony Perry and Kelley) is superior to to the others. To top it off the food was pretty good. Thank you to all you good folks. Thank you Teresa in finance for your hard work and kind heart. You all deserve 5 stars. This is the rebirth of the old Cascade years ago.

THE WORST "MEDICAL" DETOX EVER. i struggled with opiates on and off the last 10 years. ive gone to 4 or 5 different Detox centers. AND THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTLY THE WORST! they hardly give you any meds to help. its a JOKE, I WAS SICK the whole time i was there. there meds dont even help at all. i didnt sleep for 4 days so i just left. your better off going to a doctor and doing it at home. Then when u try to get meds they just tell you no. ITS SO BAD! not to mention i didnt eat anthing except rice crispies the whole 4 days. it was un edible!! and some of the nurses were ok but most were just rude and didnt care at all about the patients. the place is pretty much a scam. you can feel alot better with over counter meds and staying at home. they give u stuff thats just pointless to take. and the stuff that should help doesnt because they give u the lowest mgs and it doesnt even phase the sickness. WASTE OF TIME. YOU WILL BE SICK THE WHOLE TIME!!

Was a patient there a couple of years ago as an adult looking for help. Went in during memorial weekend, was on restrictioned access and was not allowed outside until I got psychologist ok. Well, since I went in on memorial weekend all the psychologists had it off, so I spent 4 days inside. For daily exercise (there was none) I eventually followed in suit with other patients in walking in circles around the ward. Couldn't really see the outside either, it just felt like a jail. Social worker sucked, didn't believe in patient confidentiality and told my parents (support system) everything. Totally damaged my relationship with them. Now I have more mental health issues and I don't know how to get help, because after this experience I have little faith in the mental health institutions

Had a great time! Amazing staff!

Does anyone recommend a good detox facility that is inside a hospital, for IV drug users with high complication & death risk.

crystal ray | Aug 13, 2022
Sarah Anderson | Aug 14, 2022

I'm sorry I'm so late to answer this, but I had great experiences at Swedish Addiction Recovery in Ballard. Their detox program is the best in the state offering safe, medically assisted withdrawal with professional and compassionate staff and very nice facilities. You wont be able to smoke there, the only drawback if you ask me, but they will prescribe you a nicotine patch that helps take the edge off. I would never, ever go anywhere ever again to detox from another substance. I've done it the hard way and honestly think its inhumane for inpatient treatment centers to consider even allowing their patients to detox unassisted. It didn't make me want to stay clean like they claim.
